AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

APPROACH

The excellence of this extra virgin coconut oil comes from the origin and selection of coconut nuts from the 96 acres of family coconut plantations spread over the island, but also an approach that respects the environment.
ECO-DESIGN & CIRCULAR ECONOMY
The entire production and range of products are part of an eco-design and circular economy approach. Production methods, raw materials, packaging ... the objective is to have the minimum impact on the environment and to highlight all the raw materials and finish products. Similarly, while the production unit in the coconut plantation is isolated from the village, the electricity needed for production and daily life comes from photovoltaic panels. Freshwater, a rare and vital resource on an atoll where periods of drought can last for months, comes from an osmosis system that filters and purifies water.

ORIGIN, SELECTION, FRESHNESS

THE INGREDIENTS OF A PURE AND LIMITING OIL

In order to obtain the purest oil, the clearest and with the lowest risk of oxidation on the local market, the team harvests ripe coconuts and then the husks every day. In the fare hinu (oil production laboratory) the coconuts are opened and grated to reduce the almond in the form of fresh pulp. It is immediately pressed to obtain milk. It is this fresh coconut milk and thanks to a technique of cold centrifugation technique and with a unique know-how that we obtain this extra virgin oil of first quality.

A METHOD, A KNOW-HOW
The natural cold centrifugation used aims to separate the various components of mixtures (suspensions, emulsions). The mixture, rotated about an axis, is subjected to acceleration. The particles with the highest density go outwards because of their higher inertia and drive the lower density components to the bottom.
AN ORIGINAL TEAM IN NIAU
The production of extra virgin coconut oil until packaging is done internally. In Niau, all the staff from the island produce extra virgin coconut oil and then ship it to the island of Tahiti. This staff is regularly trained in production tools, good practices that allow to bring great attention and impeccable hygiene. Traceability and organic certification complete the quality process and guarantee the origin and quality of the products from the raw material to the finished products.
A SYMBOLIC LINK
The project goes beyond the production unit. Even the nape (traditional rope finely woven from coconut wad) that holds the user guide to the bottle comes from Niau. This rope is produced by local artisans with the coconut wad used to produce virgin oil. As the oil process is long and thorough: breaking of the flock, the fibers are immersed in the sea, before being finely braided. This step is for the company the symbolic link that binds the team of Niau Organic ® and local artisans and population of the island. Distribution in Polynesia is made by partner distributors depending on the type of market served (pharmacies, organic markets, large retailers ...)
Transferred in futs and jerry cans by schooner on Tahiti, this is where a team takes over. It receives, checks and checks the quality of the oil before packaging it in bottles, jars and marketing. Local distribution is made by partner distributors according to the type of markets served (pharmacy, organic markets, large retailers, etc.) or sent internationally to distributors. To date there is no direct sale.
